You may have read or viewed our blog from December 9th, 2021, Franchising, and the Process. Within that blog, BNI staff talks about the process we take once we choose our franchisees and what that process looks like. However, before a franchisee reaches out about the opportunity, or before BNI receives a referral, the Franchise Development Team ensures they would be a good candidate.

BNI’s Development Team thoroughly reviews candidates before moving them on to the next process. That process can vary depending on who the prospect is and in which territory they are looking to franchise. Sometimes our prospects are referrals, previous or current Members, Directors in another territory, etc. However, if our prospect is new to BNI, there are a series of questions that BNI’s Development Team takes our prospects through prior to meeting with our Director of Global Franchise, George Barlow. Some of the questions our prospects can expect are:

  1. Where are you originally from?
  2. Where are you currently located?
  3. How did you hear about BNI? (If you were referred by a BNI member, what is their name, BNI region, BNI Chapter name?)
  4. Have you attended any BNI chapter meetings?
  5. What type of business are you in?
  6. How much cash do you have to invest within the BNI franchise opportunity?

BNI’s Development Team likes to thoroughly vet our prospects to make sure they would be a good fit for BNI and vice versa. We like to get to know our prospects on a personal level before moving forward to build better relationships.

BNI’s franchise website is a great tool for our potential franchisees, as it goes into detail of what BNI is looking for in their prospects. Not only does our website explain what we are looking for in our franchisees but there are sections where BNI goes into detail about what the franchise opportunity entails.

If you or someone you know is interested in one of BNI’s open territories, please reach out to us at franchise@bni.com.
